Țarcu mountains experience - Ilova Rock scenic trails

For hiking and nature enthusiasts, a hike on unmarked and wild trails is an unforgettable experience. At the foot of the Țarcu Mountains is another picturesque village - Ilova - from the valley of which wild roads and paths climb above the surrounding valleys, culminating in Piatra Ilovei ( Ilova Rock) - an imposing rock that offers spectacular landscapes. We will depart from the mountain village Ilova and climb the surrounding high hills where we will be able to reconnect with wild nature like hundreds of years ago. On this hike we will cross dense forests, high glades, areas with old dwellings and sheepfolds, and peaks from which we will be able to admire the surrounding mountains and valleys for great distances. Being an unmarked wild trail, you will have the chance to occasionally see the phenomenon of transhumance - where shepherds cross the mountains with their flocks of sheep - an old Romanian tradition that is still preserved today. You will have the opportunity to take many scenic photos during this rewilding experience!
