How to become a provider
All about our thorough yet straightforward vetting process
Are you a tour operator, DMC, guide, accommodation owner, or experience provider with a rewilding-aligned business? We invite you to become part of Wilder Places – Europe and help shape a tourism experience that actively supports nature recovery and local communities.
We distinguish three types of tourism providers:
1. Local providers
Registration: three straightforward steps
To be part of Wilder Places – Europe, providers must meet our standards for nature-positive tourism and commit to practices that support rewilding and local communities. Our vetting process ensures that every provider aligns with these values—follow these three key steps to get verified on WilderPlaces.com.

Carefully read the requirements displayed below. They are an integral part of our Terms-of-Service. It is not possible to become a provider without accepting these Terms of Service.
2. Accept the Terms of Service
Sign up as provider and accept the Terms of Service. Hereby you also promise to accept the Terms of Service and the integrate the requirements listed below.
3. Post nature-positive listings
Ensure you only post listings on Wilder Places that adhere to the requirements and align with rewilding. Non-compliant listings will not be approved or removed.
Requirements: criteria & rewilding principles
To join the platform, local providers should meet the following criteria and adhere to the following rewilding tourism principles:
Provider criteria
General
- Commitment to sustainability: the provider should have a recognized sustainability commitment (e.g., GSTC certification, B Corp, Long Run membership) or demonstrate clear sustainable business practices.
- Positive customer feedback: if you receive customer reviews, we require a minimal rating of 4.0 on Google or other verified customer feedback demonstrating positive traveler experiences.
- Nature-positive positioning: the business should actively promote nature-positive values and conservation in its branding, marketing, and operations.
Specifics for tour operators and DMCs:
- Registered legal entity: the partner must be a legally registered business or organization.
- Basic english proficiency: at least one team member must be able to communicate in basic English to facilitate international tourism.
- Relevant experience in nature-based tourism: must have a proven track record of operating nature-focused experiences, ideally aligned with rewilding principles or similar conservation tourism concepts.
Rewilding tourism principles
- Commitment to rewilding tourism values: providers must sign a pledge to adhere to the principles of rewilding tourism, ensuring that their activities contribute positively to nature and communities.
- Support local economies: providers should collaborate with local businesses (e.g., accommodations, guides, transport, food services) to generate economic benefits within rewilding landscapes.
- Financial contribution to rewilding: we charge a percentage of each booking to support rewilding efforts in the landscapes where they operate.
- Mutual branding & promotion: agree to use and respect Rewilding Europe’s brand guidelines and engage in joint promotional efforts where relevant.
- Fair compensation for local teams: any engagement with Rewilding Europe staff or local community members (e.g., as advisors, speakers, or guides) should be fairly compensated.
- Local employment & capacity building: where possible, employ local guides and businesses, helping build local expertise and ensuring that benefits stay within the community.
2. Outbound tour operators
Partner with Rewilding Europe
We welcome all outbound tour operators that share our commitment to rewilding, nature recovery, and supporting local communities. If your business actively promotes sustainable, nature-based tourism, we’d love to explore how we can work together.
As a partner, you’ll receive privileged access to unique sites we manage, along with exclusive tourism experiences across our rewilding landscapes. You’ll also be featured on our WilderPlaces.com platform, connecting you with travellers who value responsible and nature-based tourism.
To join, simply reach out to us, and we’ll discuss a partnership agreement aligned with our shared vision. Let’s collaborate to create meaningful travel experiences that contribute to a wilder, more resilient Europe.
3. Preferred providers
We offer additional benefits if you create tourism experiences that actively support rewilding, nature recovery, and local communities.
These benefits include lower commission rates and featured placement for your listings on key pages. You can earn the Rewilding Preferred Provider certificate by achieving high scores in areas such as:
- Minimal environmental impact: providers should have low-impact operational practices, such as small-group travel, waste reduction policies, and sustainable sourcing of materials.
- Education & awareness: providers should actively educate guests about rewilding, conservation, and the cultural significance of the landscapes they visit.
- Animal welfare & ethical wildlife interactions: any wildlife encounters must adhere to strict ethical guidelines, ensuring no disturbance to natural behaviors.
- No exclusivity on public or rewilded land: providers should not seek exclusive access to landscapes, ensuring fair use for communities and conservation activities.
