Hello, I'm Melagusto.
The company is located in Cesoli, a hamlet of Ortona Dei Marsi (L’Aquila), in the heart of the Giovenco Valley, at the gates of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, an area historically suited to the cultivation of high-quality pome fruits. Melagusto was born in 2020 as a natural and necessary evolution of a long family tradition linked to the cultivation and transformation of apples into vinegar, first, and apple cider today. More than 10 varieties of apples that we grow in our orchards composed of new and old cultivars, native and non-native, such as the limoncella apple which is the basis of our blend obtained after 5 years of experimentation for the production of apple cider. The cider factory is made up of 3 environments for the processing, fermentation and maturation of the product including a cave cellar. Slow pressing and long fermentation at low temperature are the prerogatives of the 4 types of cider that we produce annually.
