Kieran O'Halloran - Cosmiques Arete August 2008

My overall experience was fabulous. The pre trip service was excellent…. In dealing with my many queries Claire was patient and supportive. Her enthusiasm for the project was an essential factor in my decision to undertake the trip. I felt that Wilderplaces had my best interests at heart and that their priority was that I would have a good trip rather than that just a profit opportunity…. My guide Zoe Hart was first class. I had nothing less than total confidence in her at all times. All UIAGM guides are professionals but that does not mean they are all equally good. I found Zoe to be an all round excellent guide. Her attention to safety details, her skill as a climber, her ability to communicate clearly and her positive and affirmative approach were exceptional.

Helena Posnet - Backcountry Week March 2007

Just got home and wanted to thank you for such a fantastic week! Went from a nervous off piste skier to feeling a million times more confident and have had my eyes opened to ski touring & mountaineering! I’ve you and Derek to thank for that and could not recommend the course or your individual instruction/guiding more highly. What a ‘life changing’ week….

Guy Galpin – Haute Route 2008

Thanks so much to you and Geoff for a truly fantastic tour last week. I think everyone without exception thought it was a great experience, and very much enhanced by the two of you taking care of us.

Charles Taylor 9-19 April Haute Route 2008

Linus was fantastic and made the trip for us. His knowledge of the mountains was amazing and every time there was a weather call he made the right choice.... Overall this was probably the best skiing holiday I have ever been on. It was very hard work at times but the good times were amazing - never skiied such good snow. The guide was brilliant and really helped us out. All the transfers and hotels were far better than I thought. I have never laughed so much on a holiday! Thanks for such a good 10 days.

Roger Hutton - Haute Route 2008

"I just wanted to send an email to say what a fabulous job you did in guiding our group on the Haut Route from Verbier 23rd to 27th April. I was really impressed with everything that you and Jeff did, and for letting us do what we wanted as a group while keeping everything safe and sound and in check. Your ability to seem to not be there, but at the same time always be in exactly the right place when we needed you was fantastic.

Thank you for putting up with us, our antics, and with such a strong headed team of individuals. We are still all talking about it wherever we go here, and there are quite a few of us who can wait to get back to fill in the missing bit from Chamonix to Verbier."

Paraig Walsh - Mt. Blanc 18 - 25 June 2008

"A totally wonderfull experience. Notwithstanding the fact that I didn't summit, I had a really wonderful time. The structure of the week was perfect….. The part I enjoyed most was the morning we left the hut at 4am and hiked up over the glacier. The sun rose behind us as we walked towards the moon. We climbed the Aguille de Tour (little one) and although I nearly shat myself it was some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen…..I can't really think of anything negative about the week."

The Guides: "How is it possible to talk about those three guys (Robbie, Pete & Jimmy) without giving them impossibly big heads? Three nicer, friendlier, more helpful gentlemen you would walk a long way to find. They were always at hand to advise, encourage, assist and chat. Three very different personalities but each a pleasure to spend time with. It was difficult not to think that we were being taken on a trip by old friends rather than a trekking company. I could not speak highly enough of our guides. And with their own very obvious mountain fitness levels they must have the patience of Job to deal with people like us!"

David Millist Mt Blanc June18 – 25 2008

"The overall experience was an fantastic trip, had an absolute blast ! Looking back I realise I learned a lot over the week, i think the group as a whole was really happy with everything we got to do, it felt like 2 or 3 weeks packed into one !"

"The guides were just brilliant, everything you could hope for, friendly, encouraging and very patient. I had never walked on crampons before, or used an axe, but in no time I felt comfortable walking/ climbing with them ( at least in my head, Robbie and Pete may have another story ;) ! ) Another big point was safety, I always felt they were watching out for us, making sure we had tied in properly etc, and always giving tips and pointers on how to use the gear. Even though Jimmy was only with us for the last couple of days, he was great ! We were definitely in good hands for the whole trip ! Making the summit was the icing on the cake, we had a crystal clear view in every direction, it was unforgettable experience."

Billy Russel Mt Blanc June18 – 25 2008

"I had the most incredible week with Wilderplaces. Probably the toughest week of my life in terms of the range of emotions experienced but ultimately the most rewarding"

David Hanly Vallee Blanche Feb 2008

"I just wanted to send on a word of thanks from myself and my friends. we had a really fantastic time doing the Valle Blanche last Monday week it was something that we as a group were looking forward to all year and it was certainly better than we had expected.I can safely say from my group's experience that your Employee and Guide Pete Mason made the Vallee Blanche a great experience, He was courteous, full of knowledge,he was very aware of what us snowboarders have to do on flatter and more difficult parts and he showed his knowledge and awareness, which was greatly appreciated"
